About the Entomology Section

This Section has one of the widest fields of study of the whole Société, and there is much for its members still to do and to learn. With so many different insect species in Jersey awaiting identification the emphasis of its work is on their naming and distribution, but there is plenty of scope for the study of their biology which is important for the conservation of insect habitats.

Entomologists' main work is carried out in the field, the fortnightly meetings being mostly occupied with maintaining accurate records and looking after the Société's extensive study collection of insects.
