Library Review - Spring 2009
The lead up to Christmas began on 7th November with the preview to the book sale held for Section Members. The book sale was in planning for over a year, with Bibliography Section and various other members checking items which had been donated or bequeathed in 2006, and which were duplicates not required for the collection.
Library Review - Autumn 2008
The Lord Coutanche Library has continued to welcome a steady flow of visitors with a wide ranging interest in local history. It is the sheer variety of different enquiries that make us constantly aware of the diverse nature of the library collections, there is always something new to discover or even sometimes re-discover.
Library Review - Spring 2008
The Library continues to be a hive of activity, Genealogy enquiries both made in person and via e-mail dominate the scene with researchers recently visiting from New Zealand and Australia and others from closer to home.
Library Review - Autumn 2007
The last few months have been busy with family history enquiries from all over the world. Our visitors said how hospitable and helpful they have found folk in the island overall. One of our "happy customers" was a Mr John Cabot of Massachussets who has been visiting Jersey over the last 12 years researching the Cabot family.
Library Review - Autumn 2006
Anna was invited to be a judge for the Insurance Corporation Conservation Awards which took place in June. The panel of judges spent 2 days scrutinising the superb entries across the island. The competition was geared not only at schools but also individuals.
