Frederick William Spinner
Frederick William Spinner was born in Hackney in east London in 1882. A professional photographer, he was employed by Kodak of London who used some of his photographs for their advertising. He travelled around Britain with his camera visiting places including the Cumbrian Lake District and the county of Devon, and there is a collection of his travels in the museum of Wales. He came to Jersey to take photographs in 1904, travelling by steamboat from Weymouth. During the First World War, from 1914 -16, he was in the medical corps where he worked as a radiographer.
