Phyllis Gertrude Ross (Lady McKie)
Phyllis Gertrude Ross was born in Montreal, Canada. She is best known for writing "The Seaflower Venture" which tells the life story of Charles Robin – the pioneer member of the family firm that dominated Jersey’s maritime trade with the Gaspé coast in eastern Canada in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. She presented to the Société Jersiaise her collection of photographs on the subject. She travelled extensively throughout her life and made several visits to Jersey, including her honeymoon with Sir William McKie, her second husband, whom she married in 1956. She died on 12th January 1983 in Canada.
