Museum Announces Plan to Move Historic Arch
Work is starting today to relocate the arch at the entrance of the Jersey Museum to its original location.
Jersey Victoria Cross Could Be Coming Home
A Victoria Cross awarded in 1863 to an Old Victorian is likely to be bought by the Société Jersiaise in support of the national ‘Help for Heroes’ campaign.

Many of the Société's Presidents are elected to that role after previously filling the role of a Vice-President. However, in my case, this did not happen and over the first few months I still have not had the opportunity to look very far ahead but I am happy to be able to continue several projects in which my predecessor had been involved.
2006 Millennium Standing Stones Walk
I am delighted to report that funds raised by walkers taking part in the 2006 Standing Stones Walk exceeded £5,000 this year. We were therefore, able to forward a cheque for £2,508.85 to the Jersey Samaritans being half of the profit made by way of sponsorship.

It is with great pleasure that I report that our new Lieutenant-Governor, Lieutenant-General AP Ridgway, has consented to become a Patron of the Société Jersiaise. He and Mrs Ridgway visited our headquarters in July and showed a lively interest in our activities. The Executive Committee decided to nominate the Earl of Jersey as an additional Patron and he too has accepted.
